Position: Solar PV Engineer

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE)

We currently have an opportunity available with our client, a well-established solar PV contractor who specialises in the surveying, installation and O&M of commercial solar PV systems anywhere in size from 50kW to 1mW.

This opportunity will initially be focused on the technical surveying and pre-construction section of commercial solar PV projects and will evolve to include complex installation technical support and O&M activities.

Solar PV Engineer Job Overview

• Working hybrid from the company's office in Greater Manchester, from home, and out on sites across the UK (little to no staying away involved)
• Completing site surveys, technical feasibility assessments and working closely with the design and pre-construction teams
• Assessing on-site LV equipment including distribution systems, switchgear and incoming electrical supplies
• Completing routine O&M, fault-finding and remedial repair works on solar PV and battery storage systems
• Providing electrical and technical support to project delivery teams, including reviewing electrical certification documents, completing site audits and providing on-site technical support

Solar PV Engineer Job Requirements

• Fully qualified Electrician, holding NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, 18^th Edition and 2391 Inspection and Testing
• Ideally holding an MCS-recognised Solar PV qualification such as City & Guilds/EAL Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small-Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
• Confident in completing electrical site surveys including surveying existing electrical infrastructure, identifying suitable connection points, cable routing, containment and inverter locations
• Experienced in hands-on solar PV installations on a commercial scale, with any battery storage system experience being highly desirable
• Full UK driving licence, based within a commutable distance of Leigh, Greater Manchester and happy to travel where necessary

Solar PV Engineer Salary & Benefits

• Basic salary £45,000 - £55,000, depending on experience
