Salary: £15.45 per hour + £20 night shift allowance

CNC Laser Operative required in Wombwell, Barnsley, for our client.

Our client is Billington Structures Ltd, one of the UK's leading structural steelwork specialists, designing, manufacturing and constructing a wide portfolio of projects across the UK and Europe. Established for over 75 years, the company has an experienced workforce and the capability to process 50,000 tonnes of steel per annum across its Barnsley facilities.

The role involves processing steel fittings through a CNC laser machine, organising fittings into the correct lots and operating an overhead crane to load and unload materials. Full training will be provided on the main duties, with a strong emphasis on working safely and following strict health and safety procedures.

CNC Laser Operative Job Overview

• Process steel fittings through the CNC laser machine in accordance with production requirements

• Organise processed fittings into the correct lots for further manufacturing processes

• Operate an overhead crane (OHC) to load and unload the machine

• Follow strict health and safety procedures throughout all activities

• Undertake manual handling duties as required

• Full training will be provided on the main role

CNC Laser Operative Job Requirements

• CNC experience preferred, although full training will be provided on the main role

• Basic understanding of steel processing

• Ability to read and understand cut notes and technical drawings

• Overhead crane (OHC) experience preferred

• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures within a manufacturing environment

• Comfortable undertaking manual handling duties
