Position: Senior Building Surveyor / Project Manager
Location: West Midlands (Hybrid / Remote & Site Based)
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 + Car Allowance

Bennett & Game are representing a specialist, multidisciplinary education estates consultancy who are looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor or Project Manager to support their continued growth across the West Midlands.

Working exclusively within the education sector, the consultancy provides a comprehensive range of professional services to schools, academies and multi-academy trusts across the UK. Its services span building surveying, architectural design, project management, estate strategy, engineering and health & safety, giving the successful candidate exposure to a varied portfolio of projects and the opportunity to work alongside an experienced, collaborative team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor or Project Manager looking to take ownership of a regional client base, develop existing relationships and play an important role in growing the consultancy's presence across the West Midlands.

The position will suit someone with a strong personality, excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in developing client relationships. While a solid technical background is important, the business is particularly interested in individuals who can build trust with clients, identify opportunities and develop long-term relationships, with further technical support and training available where required.

The role will cover the wider West Midlands, including Birmingham, Coventry, Stafford and the Worcester area, with occasional travel further afield where required. There is considerable flexibility around home working and site-based responsibilities, with an expectation to attend the Leicester office approximately one day per week.

Senior Building Surveyor / Project Manager Position Overview

• Managing building surveying, construction and refurbishment projects from inception through to completion
  * Providing building surveying, contract administration and project management services to education sector clients
  * Developing and maintaining strong relationships with schools, academies, multi-academy trusts and other key stakeholders
  * Taking ownership of client relationships across the West Midlands and identifying opportunities to develop new business
  * Supporting clients with estate management, condition assessments, feasibility studies and capital investment planning
  * Overseeing refurbishment, maintenance, extensions and new-build projects across education estates
  * Liaising with contractors, architects, consultants and other project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
  * Providing professional advice and guidance throughout the project lifecycle
  * Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary consultancy team, including architects, engineers and health & safety specialists
  * Travelling to client sites across the region, generally within a two-hour radius
  * Attending the Leicester office approximately one day per week, with flexibility around the remainder of the working week

Senior Building Surveyor / Project Manager Position Requirements

• Previous experience within a building surveying, construction consultancy or project management environment
  * Experience managing construction projects from inception through to completion
  * Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills
  * Confident dealing directly with clients and developing long-term professional relationships
  * Commercially aware, with the ability to identify opportunities and help develop a regional client base
  * A proactive, personable and self-motivated approach
  * Relevant Building Surveying, Project Management or construction-related qualification
  * RICS qualification or working towards chartership would be advantageous
  * Education sector experience would be beneficial but is not essential
  * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the West Midlands
