Job Profile

Health and Safety Manager - required to join a leading Civil Engineering Contractor in West London, The Health and Safety Manager will be the working on Groundworks and RC projects. The Health and Safety Manager will ensure delivery of various projects through project and programme strategy, adding value through positive intervention, challenging behaviour, influencing decision making and encouraging innovation.

Health and Safety Manager Position Overview

  • Compile the compilation of Construction Phase Plans, Pre-Construction Information, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Advising on changes to working practices to ensure they are safe and comply with legislation
  • Developing and recommending safety improvement initiatives
  • Creation of a framework for the group
  • Management of investigation into incidents / accidents and maintenance of appropriate records as and when required
  • Maintaining knowledge of all the Health and Safety Executive legislation and any developments that affect the industry
  • Carry out planned and ad-hoc site inspections and Audits
  • Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health
  • Staff training in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work,
  • Complete new starter inductions within two weeks of new personnel joining the business/site, to ensure all safety procedures are briefed out

Health and Safety Manager Position Requirements

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent degree level qualification (Advantageous)
  • TechIOSH or GradIOSH Membership
  • Detailed understanding of Health and Safety legislation, regulations, ACOP's and guidance.
  • 5 years 'Safety Professional' experience
  • Experience of near miss reporting and ISO
  • 5 Years Construction Experience, including site visits
  • Civil Engineering / Groundworks / RC Frame experience is advantageous
  • Ability to work under pressure with good time Management skills

  • Salary up to £60k
  • Monday - Friday
