Job Description

Estimator - required for our client an innovative steel fabrication company based in Bicester. The Estimator will be working for a provider of high-quality steel products and solutions. The Estimator will be assessing costs and preparing comprehensive project estimates for a variety of steel fabrication projects.

Estimator Position Overview

• Assess project requirements, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work and identify potential cost factors.
• Utilize industry knowledge, historical data, and estimating software to prepare accurate and competitive project cost estimates.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather relevant information and ensure alignment between estimates and project goals.
• Prepare detailed and organized bid packages, including cost breakdowns, material quantities, and labour estimates, for submission to clients.
• Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and market conditions to provide up-to-date and competitive estimates.
• Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and work collaboratively to develop strategies for risk mitigation.
• Engage with clients during the bidding process to clarify project requirements, address inquiries, and build positive relationships.
• Proactively train and transfer knowledge within the department.

Estimator Position Requirements

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the steel fabrication or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experienced in produce accurate, timely, and competitive quotations and tender submissions.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and propose practical solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• UK Driving Licence

• Salary up to £60k
