Client Accountant required to join this Medium sized very successful accountancy practice in the Accounts & Outsourcing team based in the Gerrard's cross-office.

The Client Accountant will be seeking to progress in their career and build on their experience in this role predominantly handling the accounts, advisory and management reporting for a number of SME, OMB and other clients.

The ideal Portfolio Accountant will have proven experience within a similar role and practical experience managing a portfolio and a team and will be looking for a rewarding but challenging position.

Client Accountant Position Overview

Managing a portfolio your main task will include:

  • Manage the accounting needs for a portfolio of clients; including bookkeeping, preparing management accounts, preparing and submitting VAT returns, preparing working papers for the statutory accounts.
  • Proactively manage the onboarding of clients; defining scope of work, agreeing budgets with the Director/Partner, identifying VAT requirements and setting up the firm as agent for VAT purposes etc.
  • Be responsible for the billing of clients on a timely basis, with input from the senior manager/partner.
  • Must have excellent client management skills, as the role involves being the key point of client contact with the firm and will involve a large amount of client interaction.
  • Be competent in the use of accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks etc.

Client Accountant Position Requirements

  • Qualified or studying ACA, CIMA or ACCA
  • Experience working within a practice is essential
  • Experience supervising or managing junior members of staff
  • Broad background and experience of technical VAT issues and detailed management accounts
  • Full UK driving licence is preferable

Client Accountant Position Remuneration

  • £45,000 - £ 55,000 per annum
