Happy Halloween - What are your fears when looking for a new job?

As Halloween is here, we felt it was appropriate to address candidates' fears when looking for a new job. We recently gathered valuable insights from LinkedIn, asking candidates about their challenges when looking for a new job and their main concerns about making a career move.
In this blog, we'll dive into the key statistics from our weekly polls and explore how we, as recruiters, can help address these challenges and offer solutions to ease your job search journey.
Here’s what we found:
What makes you most scared about moving jobs?
With 44% voting job security, we want to share how we can help alleviate these fears for you when looking for a new job.
Our solution:
As recruiters, we can never guarantee that something won’t happen with a new employer if they have to make redundancies or things don’t work out between you. However, what we can do is do our research for you. We work extremely closely with our clients and while doing so, we also gain knowledge on past redundancies, staff turnover, company turnover, upcoming projects and recruitment plans for the future. Looking at all of these factors we can start to eliminate potential concerns and reassure you based on the facts that we have.
What aspect of job hunting feels most daunting?
Out of 110 votes, 42% voted that finding the right job opening is most daunting for them, and we can’t say we’re surprised when it is such a competitive market out there and searching for a job that suits all of your needs can be challenging.
Our solution:
As a recruitment agency, we look at the best-suited jobs for our candidates and vice versa for our clients. When taking on a new job, we discuss intricate details with our clients to make sure we know exactly what they’re looking for and what skills are most important, and we do the same with our candidates when discussing job requirements. We know that juggling your job search with your current job can be difficult and overwhelming, so we keep our candidates updated with new suitable jobs as soon as they become available so that you get information before the role even hits the job boards. This saves you the tedious job of looking through job boards to find the perfect role.
What is the biggest challenge you face in finding a new role?
With the top vote of 35% being that our candidate's experience doesn’t match the job roles available, we as recruiters can most certainly help offer a solution to this. We appreciate it can be extremely frustrating as a candidate when your skills and experience don’t match up to the jobs you are applying for, but often you are missing a large portion of jobs, or there is leeway with the employer.
The solution:
Similar to the points above, with our wealth of knowledge of our clients and skills they require, we know exactly what they will and won’t accept. We would never put you forward for a job if your skills do not meet the needs of the employer and we would always consider all other factors such as; Sectors, software, location, salary, position in the company etc.
Many employers would consider compromising certain needs for the right candidate, and quite often would be willing to provide training if there are differences in software or certain other elements.
